Israel’s Population and Immigration Authority has decided to extend the validity period of visas that are held by foreigners in the country until February 8, 2024.
Announcing the news, the Population and Immigration Authority said that such a decision has been taken in light of the current situation in Israel. The same stressed that the extension will apply to valid visas that are due to expire in the next three months, VisaGuide.World reports.
This means that the validity of certain visa types will be officially extended until February of next year. Considering the situation after this period, the procedure for visa extension will continue as usual, provided that there is no need for automatic extension.
Due to the current security situation in Israel, PIBA has extended the period of validity of all valid visas held by foreigners in Israel, which are due to expire in the coming three months. The visas have been extended until February 8th 2024. After this period -if there is no further notice- visa extension must be carried out as per the usual procedures.
As the Israeli authorities have clarified, the extension of visas for another three months will not apply to the B/1 Work Visa.
However, the extension will apply to all the other visas, including immigration visas, limited stay B/2 Visitor’s Visa, and long-term A visas, such as A/2 Student Visa and A/4 Visa for Spouses and Children, among others.
The authorities further explained that all foreigners who are currently residing abroad and who need a visa in order to be permitted entry to Israel must apply for the document in the relevant consulate.
The general visa extension includes visas of all foreigners in Israel. A foreign citizen currently residing abroad and who needs a visa to enter Israel must apply for a visa in the relevant Israeli consulate. If the foreigner is a citizen of a country whose citizens do not need a visa to enter Israel as tourists, he may enter Israel with no need for a visa from the consulate.
Those who need a visa to enter Israel must submit several documents. Israel requires all visa applicants to submit the fully completed visa application form, two passport-size photographs, a valid passport, older passports, a birth certificate, and a flight booking confirmation.
In addition, applicants must also submit some other additional documents related to their trip and the visa type they are applying for.
