The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Cairo has confirmed that it did not suspend tourist visas for Egyptians wishing to visit the Sultanate.
Through a recent statement, it denied the rumours that it had suspended tourist visas for Egyptians, while clarifying that reports about the tourist visa ban “for Egyptians are incorrect”, VisaGuide.World reports.
The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in the Arab Republic of Egypt would like to point out that the rumours that the Sultanate of Oman has suspended tourist visas for Egyptians wishing to travel to the Sultanate of Oman are incorrect.
The Embassy further urged the public to get valid information through the Royal Oman Police website.
The Oman visa requirements for Egyptian citizens currently include the following conditions:
- Be a resident of a country in the GCC
- Have a Resident Card issued by the GCC member state
- Be visiting as a tourist
- Stay for no more than 28 days
Since 2023, 103 Countries WorldWide Can Enjoy Visa-Free Entry to Oman
In March of last year, Oman’s Foreign Ministry announced a list of 103 nationalities who can avail of visa-free entry to the Sultanate for 14 days. The same also explains that the Royal Oman Police (ROP) manages the process of obtaining a visa for visitors to the Sultanate.
In this regard, citizens of GCC countries (Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE) do not require visas to enter Oman. On the other hand, some of the countries whose citizens can enter Oman visa-free for 14 days are as follows:

- Norway
- Italy
- Bulgaria
- Switzerland
- Croatia
- Hungary
- Serbia
- Georgia
- Denmark
- Germany
- Greece
- Belgium
- Romania
- Finland
- Cyprus

- Ireland
- United Kingdom

- United States
- Türkiye
- South Korea

Moreover, Indian citizens of GCC who have an entry visa for the US, Canada, the UK, Schengen countries, and Japan can also enjoy visa-free entry.
This rule also applies to citizens of countries such as Armenia, Azerbaijan, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Albania, Laos, Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, Vietnam, Bhutan, Guatemala, Belarus, Cuba, Panama, Peru, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kazakhstan, Maldives, Jordan, Tunisia, Algeria, Mauritania, Morocco and Egypt.
Tourists from all the countries mentioned above can apply for their 14-day visa extended to one month for a fee of OMR20 ($51.96).
