A day after the Maldives decided to ban people with Israeli passports from entering the country, the Israeli Embassy in India encouraged Israeli citizens to visit and explore Indian beaches.
Through a post on X (former Twitter), the Israeli Embassy in India also recommended some of the Indian places which include Goa, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and Kerala, VisaGuide.World reports.
Since the Maldives no longer welcome Israelis, there are some beautiful and amazing Indian beaches where Israeli tourists are warmly welcomed and treated with the utmost hospitality.
Ongoing War in Gaza Prompts Maldives to Ban Israeli Citizens From Entering Country
Maldives has banned Israeli passport holders from entering the Island Nation amid public outrage over the ongoing war in Gaza. However, Maldives records the arrival of over one million tourists annually, including 15,000 from Israel. Meanwhile, 528 people from Israel visited the Maldives in the first four months of this year, less than the 4,644 who visited during the same period in 2023. About 10,966 Israeli tourists visited the Maldives in 2023, while 15,748 Israelis travelled there in 2023.
Israel issued a travel warning in December urging its citizens against visiting the Maldives, citing increased anti-Israel sentiment during the war with Hamas.
Israel does not have diplomatic ties with the Muslim-majority nation after they were suspended in 1974. In a press release, the Office of the President of the Maldives stated that President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, following a recommendation from the Cabinet, has decided to impose a ban on Israeli passports.
At the same time, the press release states that such a decision includes changing the laws necessary to prevent Israeli passport holders from entering the Maldives and creating a cabinet subcommittee to oversee these efforts.

Last week, Israel’s Foreign Ministry advised Israeli citizens not to travel to the Maldives after the Maldivian government banned visitors with Israeli passports. This advice also applies to Israelis who have dual citizenship.
Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu has decided to appoint a special envoy to assess the needs of the Palestinians. He has also decided to start a campaign to raise funds to provide aid to the people of Palestine with the help of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees.
Earlier on Friday, US President Joe Biden announced that Israel has proposed a “comprehensive new proposal” that provides a roadmap for a ceasefire in the ongoing war with Hamas in Gaza and securing the release of all hostages held by the terrorist group.
