Content creators can soon head to Dubai for employment and training opportunities, after Dubai has launched its Gaming Visa Initiative.
Such a step has been taken in cooperation with companies and academic institutions, offering long-term cultural visas in order to bring to UAE more talented individuals, artists and creators through the Creative and Talented Accreditation Certificate, VisaGuide.World reports.
The new initiative is part of Dubai’s Program for Gaming 2033, which aims to create a total of 30,000 jobs and achieve a $1 billion surge in GDP.
New Gaming Visa Initiative Requirements
In order to hold the Creative and Talented Accreditation Certificate, persons are required to submit their application through the official website. Soon after, they will receive email notifications regarding the status of their application. After being approved, the certificate will be issued to them.
Another requirement for obtaining the Creative and Talented Accreditation Certificate is being at least 25 years old. Those interested are required to submit a copy of their passport and their professional CV.
Crown Prince of Dubai and chairman of Dubai executive council, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has said that the objective of the Dubai Program for Gaming 2033 is to establish an incubating environment for developers and to draw leading technology companies from across the globe.
Particularly those specializing in digital content and experiences. The programme will offer support to developers, designers, programmers, as well as entrepreneurs and startups in the creative industries.
Earlier this month, the UAE government said that it wants Dubai to be a global gaming hub, stressing that it plans to be a top ten city for game companies by 2033.
Speaking at the Dubai GameExpo Summit powered by Pocket Gamer Connects, Dubai Economic Development Corporation CEO Hadi Badri and Dubai Chambers digital operations director Abdulla AlGaoud unfolded government initiatives for the games sector, as reported by Pocketgamer.
According to Badri, there has been a notable increase in investment in infrastructure in Dubai, while emphasizing that the goal is for Dubai to be a global crossroads for knowledge sharing and networking as well as for the games industry.
