United Kingdom, Canada, and Singapore passport holders are now eligible for visa-on-arrival in Papua New Guinea as the latter has decided to expand the list.
The news on the new additions was shared by the Deputy Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, John Rosso, who said that the move is aimed at attracting more visitors and promoting business and trade, VisaGuide.World reports.
Passport holders from the United Kingdom (UK), Canada, and Singapore are now eligible to get visa-on-arrival in Papua New Guinea.
Effective immediately, the visa-on-arrival is available for nationals of the UK, Canada, Singapore, and other eligible countries at the Jackson’s International Airport, Post Courier explains.
Visa-on-Arrival Permits Stays of up to 60 Days in Papua New Guinea
Under this type of visa, UK, Canada, and Singapore passport holders will be able to remain within the territory of Papua New Guinea for short stays not exceeding 60 days.
As explained by Rosso, the visa-on-arrival will be granted to all nationals of the three countries mentioned above traveling to Papua New Guinea for leisure, tourism, and visiting family and friends purposes.
At the same time, Rosso noted that those who want to remain within the territory of the country for a longer period of time exceeding 60 days, for employment or other long-stay purposes, need to apply for an online visa before deciding to reach the country.
The VOA will be granted to those who travel for leisure, holiday, tourism, and visiting families and friends for short-stay purposes only. Those who travel for employment and long-stay visas must apply online before they travel.
UK, Canada & Singapore Passport Holders Also Eligible for Business Short-Term Single Entry Visa-On-Arrival
In addition to the above-mentioned, Rosso highlighted that passport holders from the UK, Canada, and Singapore are also eligible for a business short-term single entry visa-on-arrival.
All conditions under the short-term business visa apply, including the Migration Service Fee of US$190.
A number of other countries are also eligible for visa-on-arrival in Papua New Guinea. The list, among others, also includes Israel, Japan, China, and Indonesia. However, only official, service, and diplomatic passport holders of these four countries can enter Papua New Guinea on a visa-on-arrival under the existing bilateral agreement.
