The Turkish Ambassador to Oman, Muhammet Hekimoğlu, has said that Türkiye and Oman are currently working on easing the visa rules for citizens of the latter.
While the two countries are still working on the matter, a reached agreement would mean that citizens of Oman will be able to enter the territory of Türkiye without having to obtain a visa, VisaGuide.World reports.
Confirming that the country is working to facilitate visa requirements, Ambassador Hekimoğlu said that the Turkish authorities plan on organizing events as well as meetings to push more Turkish citizens to visit Oman, Startup Pakistan explains.
Data show that the number of citizens of Türkiye and Oman visiting each other’s territory started to increase significantly in recent years, especially in the first six months of 2023.
The figures for last year were high too. It has been revealed that in 2022, ver 130,000 citizens of Oman entered Türkiye for tourism purposes. With the facilitation of the visa rules, the number of visitors is expected to increase even more as Oman citizens will no longer have to worry about the procedures of obtaining the document.
Both countries offer a number of attractions. In Türkiye, visitors can experience the blend of cultures and explore different landscapes as well as relax on the beaches.
As for Oman, travelers can visit the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, the ancient city of Nizwa, and the Wahiba Sands, among many others.
Currently, all citizens of Oman are required to submit several documents when applying for Türkiye Visa. They need to fill out the visa application form and submit two identical photos and their passport.
Moreover, Türkiye visa applicants must also submit proof of having secured a place to stay in Türkiye, proof of sufficient financial means, a travel itinerary, and proof of having purchased travel health insurance.
Depending on the employment status, other documents, such as an employment contract, may be required too.

On the other hand, Oman has already abolished the visa requirements for Turkish citizens. Citizens of Türkiye, as well as citizens of another 102 countries, can enter Oman visa-free for stays of up to 14 days.
Those who plan on staying in the county for a longer period need to apply for a visa. When applying for an Oman Visa, applicants must make sure they hold a valid passport, submit one photograph, proof of accommodation, and a return flight ticket.
