Following China’s decision to implement a 15-day unilateral visa-free policy for Polish citizens, Poles are showing great interest in reaching China.
Searches by Polish travelers for China-related keywords on travel platforms have already increased by 40 percent within a short period of time, VisaGuide.World reports.
According to a report by an international travel service provider, Trip.com, the most popular Chinese cities where Polish citizens are most likely to visit are as follows:
- Beijing
- Shanghai
- Chengdu
- Guangzhou
- Hong Kong
- Zhangjiajie
Polish Citizens Are Able to Stay in China for up to 15 Days Under the New Policy
Under the new rules, Chinese President Jinping announced that the country will permit visa-free entry for Poles for stays of up to 15 days.
Data from Trip.com shows that in the past, Poland was ranked among the top 30 source countries for Chinese inbound tourism this year. It revealed that travel orders from Polish tourists entering China next summer have increased by 80 percent year-on-year.
As Qin Jing explains, Poland is located in the “heart of Europe” as it has close economic and trade exchanges with China, with almost all trains from China entering the EU through Poland.
Considering that China has recently implemented a visa-free policy with many different countries, it has been identified as a powerful measure to promote the recovery of domestic tourism in China. It has ignited a “Travel to China” trend overseas.
New Zealand & Australia Among Recent Countries to Enjoy Visa-Free Entry to China, Too
New Zealand and Australia are the latest countries to have added to China’s visa waiver programs. As a result, holders of ordinary passports from these countries can enter the country without a visa for business, tourism, visiting relatives and friends, and transit for up to 15 days.
VisaGuide.World reported that Australians can travel to China without applying for a visa, saving them about $110.
Several other countries included on China’s visa waiver list are Singapore, France, Japan, Spain, Netherlands, Malaysia, and Thailand.
Moreover, in May 2024, the Chinese government extended visa-free entry for 12 European countries until the end of 2025, including Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Spain, and Switzerland.
This means that citizens of the destinations mentioned above can enter China for up to 15 days for business, tourism, visiting relatives and friends, and transit purposes.
During the same month, it decided to lift visas for foreign tour groups entering the country through cruise ships, allowing them to travel to China visa-free for up to 15 days.
