Oman now offers a free ten-day visa for cruise ship passengers and crew, increasing the ease of exploring the country.
This visa, arranged through the cruise ship agent, must be used within 30 days of issue. A one-month visa is also available for those seeking a more extended stay under similar conditions, VisaGuide.World reports.
The updated visa table reflects our commitment to making travel more accessible for cruise tourists.
The newly free ten-day visa is part of Muscat’s broader strategy to boost tourism. By simplifying access for cruise travelers, Oman aims to attract more visitors, support local businesses, and foster growth in its tourism sector.
Other Visa Policies in Oman
As Nairametrics explains, under the updated and current visa options, Oman also issues a range of other visas:
- Tourist Visa: Grants a stay of up to 30 days, with the possibility to extend for an additional 30 days.
- Business Visa: Permits a stay of up to 90 days, ideal for business-related activities such as meetings and conferences.
- Family Visit Visa: Allows family members of Omani residents to visit for up to 30 days, with an option for an extension.
Alongside this update, the former visa category (12) has been eliminated from the entry visa table. This change reflects a shift towards the revised visa options tailored for tourists and cruise ship visitors.
Al Shuraiqi further noted that removing the old visa sequence aligns with our updated visa structure, streamlining our offerings to serve travellers better.
