Malaysia has decided to abolish visa requirements for citizens of Kosovo for stays of up to 30 days.
The decision has been confirmed through a statement by the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, VisaGuide.World reports.
Announcing the new decision, the President of Kosovo also revealed that she will visit Malaysia next week, where the new embassy of Kosovo in Kuala Lumpur will be opened.
Ahead of my official visit to Malaysia next week, I am deeply grateful to the Malaysian authorities for their decision to exempt from visa [requirements] all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo for stays of up to 30 days.
She considered it an important step, stressing that it is a clear sign that the ties between the two countries are being strengthened every day.
The President of Kosovo also expressed her gratitude to Malaysian institutions regarding this decision.
I look forward to engaging with the country’s leaders next week as we work together to deepen our cooperation and advance the shared interests of our peoples.
The decision has also been welcomed by Kosovo’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which considers it a positive step.
The Republic of Kosovo welcomes this positive step and expresses its gratitude to Malaysian institutions for their continued cooperation and support in the service of citizens and the increasingly strong bilateral ties between our two countries.
By the end of last year, two more countries announced the decision to abolish visa requirements for nationals of Kosovo.
Kosovo Nationals Eligible to Travel Visa-Free to Israel From May 5
From May 5, 2025, nationals of Kosovo will also be able to travel visa-free to Israel for tourism purposes, as confirmed by the ambassador of Israel to Kosovo, Tammy Ziv.
The decision came following talks held between both territories in order to facilitate the travel process. In January last year, the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, announced that Kosovo’s passport holders would soon be eligible to travel to Israel without visas for short-term stays.
Taiwan Abolishes Visa Requirement for Kosovo Citizens
In December last year, authorities in Taiwan announced that the country had decided to lift visa requirements for nationals of Kosovo, a step that, according to authorities in Taiwan, would further strengthen cooperation between both countries.
The decision of Taiwan was confirmed through a statement by Kosovo’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kreshnik Ahmeti.
He said that his country’s nationals would be eligible to travel without additional requirements such as visas starting from December 1, 2024.
