Kosovo Abolishes Visa Requirements for Citizens of Singapore

Citizens of Singapore will be eligible to travel to Kosovo without being obliged to apply for a visa at first after the latter’s authorities have decided to abolish such a requirement.

The decision was confirmed by Kosovo’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Donika Gërvalla, VisaGuide.World reports.

The recent changes announced by authorities in Kosovo mean that holders of Singapore’s passport will be able to stay in this Balkan country for a period of 90 days within a 180-days period.

“I present to you the request that the citizens of Singapore can be released from the visa requirement for transit entry and stay in the territory of the Republic of Kosovo for up to 90 days for a total period of 6 months. We propose to apply the same visa regime and the same procedure for entry, passage, transit in the territory of the Republic of Kosovo to citizens of Singapore…”, Gërvalla said.

At present, citizens of Singapore are required to apply for a visa in order to enter Kosovo, however, once the new changes become effective, they would be eligible to travel to Kosovo visa-free.

On the other hand, citizens of Kosovo are required to apply for a visa when planning to travel to Singapore.

Previously, authorities in Singapore announced that e-Visa for nationals of Kosovo would be eligible starting from June.

Authorities in this country confirmed that applicants are not required to be present when applying for a Singapore e-Visa, while stressing that eight documents are needed for filing an application for the e-Visa.

Citizens of Kosovo are eligible to apply for Singapore e-Visa in two ways:

According to the Visa List report, the first approach is to know someone who lives in Singapore and obtains a SingPass account. In this case a person can apply for the Singapore visa locally on behalf of the applicant.

In case that the applicant does not know any person in Singapore, then the only way is to apply for the e-Visa. It has been emphasized that such a process should be carried out through a certified agent.

When the applicant is ready with the needed document then can apply for an e-Visa.

“Your visa application will be processed within three working days (excluding the day of submission). Some applications may take longer to process. Each visa application will be considered on its own merits,” the statement from the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) notes.

The same source notes that once the application is approved, the authorized visa agent is eligible to use the e-Service in order to print a copy of applicants’ e-Visa.
