Kazakhstan and Morocco have reached an agreement to remove visa requirements for each other’s nationals, aimed at simplifying travel and enhancing bilateral relations.

Under the new visa agreement, citizens of Kazakhstan and Morocco can now travel more easily, with the freedom to enter, exit, transit, and stay for up to 30 days within 180 days without a visa, provided they hold a valid national passport, VisaGuide.World reports.

For those planning to stay longer or wishing to work, study, or start a business, a visa must be obtained from the embassy or consulate of the respective country. This agreement will take effect 30 days after both countries finalize their necessary internal procedures.

For citizens of either country planning to stay longer than the agreed period, or engage in activities such as work, study, or business, obtaining the necessary visa from the host country’s diplomatic missions or consular offices remains unchanged.

The agreement will come into effect 30 calendar days after the last written notification is received through diplomatic channels, confirming that both parties have completed the necessary internal procedures.

During the meeting, the two sides also discussed their bilateral relations’ current status and prospects across political, trade, economic, investment, and cultural-humanitarian areas.

Additionally, Kazakhstan and Thailand plan to sign a mutual visa-free agreement on April 23, 2024, to boost tourism for both nations. The Thai Prime Minister has also proposed a Schengen-style visa for five neighboring countries: Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Vietnam.

As of August 1, 2024, Kazakhstan’s Department of Employment and Social Programs has begun accepting applications to establish a quota for recruiting foreign labor for 2025. Applications will be accepted until September 27, 2024, and must specify the number of invited foreign workers, particularly specialists. This quota will enable companies to sponsor work permits for foreign workers in the regions where they will be employed.
