In January this year, the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, said that Kosovars would soon be eligible to travel without visas to Israel, following talks with the Ambassador to the Republic of Kosovo, Ziv Nevo Kulman.

Back then it was reported that the procedures for the formalization of this process had already begun.

Ambassador Ziv informed President Osmani that after the President’s request to Israel’s institutions, the government of Israel has expressed compliance with the approval of the visa waiver agreement for citizens of Kosovo.

Announcing the new decision, Osmani said that such an agreement would further tighten the connections between both countries.

Kosovars Can Now Visit a Larger Number of Countries Visa-Free

Since the beginning of this year, following the abolishment of entry visas for citizens of Kosovo by Schengen Zone countries, Kosovars are eligible to travel visa-free for short-term stays to a larger number of countries.

Besides, an agreement on the removal of entry visas for Kosovars was signed in January this year between Kosovo and the United Arab Emirates. The decision was confirmed by the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, after a meeting held with the President of the UAE, Mohamed Bin Zayed.

Based on the Passport Index of VisaGuide.World that ranks passports of a total of 199 countries worldwide, in terms of the strength of their passport, Kosovo is placed in the 97th position with a passport score of 42.84 per cent.

The index notes that Kosovo passport holders are eligible to travel visa-free to 47 countries, while visas are required when planning to visit 112 countries worldwide.

On the other hand, Israel occupies the 54th position in the VisaGuide.World Passport Index with a passport score of 76.62. The same source notes that holders of Israel’s passport are eligible to travel visa-free to 127 countries while visas are required when planning to travel to 29 countries.
