Holders of Kosovo’s passports will soon be eligible to travel to Israel visa-free for tourism purposes after the latter’s authorities are in talks to abolish such a requirement, thus further facilitating the travel process.

The decision has been confirmed by Kosovo’s President, Vjosa Osmani, following a meeting held with the Ambassador to the Republic of Kosovo, Ziv Nevo Kulman, VisaGuide.World reports.

The Ministers have already begun the procedures for the formalization of the agreement, that will enable Kosovars to travel to the most famous tourist destinations in the region.

Ambassador Ziv informed President Osmani that after the President’s request to Israel’s institutions, the government of Israel has expressed compliance with the approval of the visa waiver agreement for citizens of Kosovo.

President Osmani considered the recent agreement a positive development that would pave the way for deeper cooperation between the two countries.

Since January 1 this year, Kosovars are eligible to travel visa-free for short-term stays to Schengen Area countries, too.

Following the abolishment of entry visas for Kosovars by the Schengen Area Member Countries, Kosovo has climbed up by 90 positions in the Passport Index of the VisaGuide.World.

The founder of the VisaGuide.World, Besart Bajrami, considered the climb up in this index “historical”.

This is a historical achievement for Kosovo and a historical climb up in the passport strength index, which showcases that only the EU has the exclusive authority to increase the power of a passport overnight to such an extent.

Furthermore, earlier this month, the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, revealed that an agreement was reached with the United Arab Emirates to remove entry visas for Kosovo passport holders.

The decision was announced following a meeting held between President Osmani and the President of the UAE, Mohamed Bin Zayed.

Kosovo and Saudi Arabia also agreed on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and official passports.

The agreement was signed by the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Kreshnik Ahmeti and his counterpart, Waleed Abdulkarim El Khereiji.

Welcoming the decision, Deputy Minister Ahmeti thanked Saudi Arabia for its support and contribution to Kosovo while urging for simpler entry rules for Kosovars planning to visit Saudi Arabia.
