UAE Extends Suspension of Entry for Valid Visa Holders Abroad

The United Arab Emirates have decided to extend the suspension of entry of valid visa holders who are outside the country, for at least an additional 14 days.

According to the statement, the two weeks period will start on Tuesday and could be renewed conforming to new updates of COVID-19, VisaGuide.World reports.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the International Cooperation, advised citizens who currently are outside of the UAE with valid UAE residency visas to register for the new service “Twajudi for residents” on the ministry’s website.

The service seeks to help those citizens to return safely to the UAE for emergency cases.

This decision was included in the UAE precautionary measures, in the fight against the deadly infection.

Due to the virus, the UAE has intensified screenings all over the country, as on Monday have been identified 277 new infection cases, according to the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP).

More than 2,000 persons have tested positive for the virus in the UAE,  so far, and 11 persons have died.

Dr Farida Al Hosani, from MoHAP, said that authorities are applying screening procedures and extending the testing scope for all UAE nationals.

“This will give a big boost to our successful efforts to contain all infected cases, significantly reduce infections, and curb the virus,” Al Hosani pointed out.

In a bid to help the citizens to get through this situation, Emirates Airlines, and the UAE Etihad Airways, resumed limited passenger flights as a large share of countries have temporarily restricted the travel to halt the spread of the virus.

The flights will enable citizens to leave the United Arab Emirates, but the incoming of passengers will be prohibited.

Last month, the United Arab Emirates also decided to help internationals stranded in the country to renew their work visas, without the usual mandatory medical test.
