USCIS Makes H-1B Account Registration Compulsory

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services have started implementing the electronic registration process, in which all the applicants must register through an online system in order to apply for an H-1B visa, for the 2021 Cap Season.

The applicants also need to pay for the electronic registration a fee of $10 after they insert their basic information in the registration form.

Prospective petitioners seeking to file H-1B cap-subject petitions, including those filing for beneficiaries eligible for the advanced degree exemption, must first electronically register with USCIS,”  the USCIS announced through a statement.

The registration process will be in function as of noon Eastern March 1 until noon March 20, this year VisaGuide.World reports.

The representatives can use for their clients an available account, while prospective petitioners must use a new “registrant” account that came into force since February 24.

If the number of registrations is considered enough by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services by March 30, 2020, the USCIS will inform the applicants by selected notifications to their online accounts.

Applications that will arrive after March 30 will be considered invalid and will not be accepted.

The registration for the H-1B visa application has been previously announced and then tested in December 2019. After the testing phase resulted successful the USCIS decided to apply it for all applicants.

“The agency completed a successful pilot testing phase, which included sessions with industry representatives, and implementation of the registration system will further the goal of modernizing USCIS from a paper-based to an online-filing agency,” the USCIS Deputy Director Mark Koumans said.

The final rule of the H-1B registration requirement has been published on January 31 and became effective on April 1, 2019.

The move has been taken by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services in a bid to facilitate the application procedures for all the applicants.
