Trump made it clear that the US. is considering having their army troops permanently placed in the territory of Poland, to protect Europe from the Russian aggression. Additionally, he said that US. is seriously seeking inclusion of Poland in the US. Visa waiver program.
During a meeting held on September 18 between President Trump and Polish President Andrzej Duda on the premises of the White House, Washington D.C. Both countries explicitly agreed that Russia is a threatening factor in the region and that Russian aggression may escalate. They also agreed that another way to strengthen cooperation as regards security, prosperity and economy between the US. and Poland is Visa Waiver Program.
The Polish President declared that the US. Military presence in Poland would be the ultimate defense against possible threats coming from Russia, requesting from the US. to undertake the needed measures to confirm such presence. Duda’s offer included an investment from the Polish government in the amount of over $2 billion in a military protection plan against Russia, which includes constructing a permanent US. army base in Poland to be named “Fort Trump”.
Establishing a permanent US. Army in Poland is necessary for protecting the security and peace of the Europe from the ever-growing belligerent Russian actions, according to both.

In June this year about 18,000 NATO troops landed in Poland and Baltic countries to perform annual exercises led by the US. Military, to prepare and show readiness of the alliance to respond towards any forcefulness of Russia.
On the other hand, if the Poland joins the Visa Waiver Program of the US. their citizens will freely travel to the US. without a visa. In such event, Poland will become the 39th country that participates in this program and will benefit from shared information about suspected terrorists, offenders, lost or stolen documents and other joined security actions.
