Hawaii Severely Impacted by Overtourism

Nearly one million visits to the the 10,932 square miles of Hawaii are recorded, causing serious overtourism in the island archipelago. The population change in Hawaii is 66.43 percent, while the number of inhabitants in the country is 2.3 million.

Overtourism – One of the Leading Causes for a Wrecked Natural Ecosystem

The flora and fauna are usually the first ones to suffer the consequences of overtourism. On top of that, overtourism often causes residents at popular attractions to seek peace and tranquillity elsewhere. That means that overtourism also impacts the population distribution.

One solution that could help certain destinations not become crowded is off-season travel, meaning to plan trips to the States during the low season.

In order to avoid crowded places and not miss the opportunity to see the best attractions due to overtourism, off-season travel is the answer. Times Square is beautiful throughout the year and the temperature differences in Honolulu during winter and summer months are minor. There are thousands of attractions to explore in 50 states, from New Year’s Eve to the next Christmas party.
