How to Apply for a Ukraine e-Visa?

The application process for an Ukraine e-visa is as follows:

  • Create an account. Before beginning your application, you must register on the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.
  • Fill in the application form. The application form requires you to write your personal details, passport information, and travel details. The information that you write down must be a representation of the information on your passport. You can not travel with a passport/travel document that is different from the one you used to apply (applicable to those who have dual nationality).
  • Upload documents. Next, you must attach all supporting documents. Based on the purpose of your visit you will need to upload documents that will prove the purpose of your visit. This is to ensure that you will not be undertaking activities that are not allowed.
  • Pay the application fee. You can make the payment online. This is a necessary step. Your application won’t be approved for processing until you pay the fee.

How Will I Receive My Ukraine e-Visa?

You will receive it in your email. You do not need to visit the embassy or consulate in order to collect your visa.

What Documents Do I Need for a Ukraine e-Visa?

In order to apply for an e-Visa to Ukraine, you need the following documents with you:

If you are applying for a Tourist e-Visa, you must submit the following supporting documents:

  • Proof that tourism is the only purpose of your visit. This can be in the form of:
    • Hotel booking
    • Contract or voucher with tour operators
    • Proof of local tourist services that you will be visiting famous city sights, etc.

If you are applying for a Business e-Visa, you must submit the following documents:

    • Invitation letter or business letter provided by the company, organization, etc
    • Letter from your employer or sponsor, which should confirm that your expenses will be covered.

If you are applying for an Educational e-Visa, you must submit the following supporting documents:

    • Invitation letter from the educational institution in Ukraine (This is a must).
    • Official bank document that confirms that the tuition fee is paid
    • Legal certificates of all educational records
    • Medical health certificate

If you are applying for a Family e-Visa, you must submit the following supporting documents:

    • Copy of your family member’s passport
    • Copy of your family member’s residence permit (if they are a Ukrainian citizen/national).
    • Other documents may include: a marriage certificate for spouses or a birth certificate in case of a children’s visa.
    • If you are applying for a Medical e-Visa, you must submit the following supporting documents:
    • Medical history and records of the patient
    • Acceptance letter from the medical center where you are going to be treated in Ukraine
    • Recommendation letter from a doctor/health institution from your home country.

Documents must be submitted in English.

How Much Does the Ukraine e-Visa Cost?

Visa fees are as follows:

Single entry e-Visa $20 US dollars
Double entry e-Visa $30 Us dollars

In case of an urgent procedure, the fee doubles.

All e-Visa fees are non-refundable.

How Long Does the Ukraine e-Visa Take to Process?

Ukraine e-Visa applications are usually processed within nine (9) working days.

How Long Is the Ukraine e-Visa Valid For?

The maximum amount of time you can stay in Ukraine is 30 days. You may stay on the territory of Ukraine within the period that your visa allows, but you must not stay longer than the last day of the visa validity period.

When Should I Apply For Ukraine e-Visa?

It is recommended that you apply at least three working days before the intended travel date and not earlier than three months. Remember that although e-Visa applications are processed within a few working days, some applications may take longer in case your application requires additional documentation or longer time to process for different reasons.

What if My Ukraine e-Visa Application Is Denied?

If your e-Visa to Ukraine has been denied, you can submit a new Ukraine e-Visa application. You can as well appeal the decision by sending a formal appeal letter to the following email address: [email protected]. However, you must do so within two months of receiving the decision. If your letter of appeal is granted, you can edit your application form and re-submit it. You can do this by logging into your e-Visa account and editing your application form. You do not have to pay the consular fee again.
