It is known as an SAE, which means Mexico’s Electronic Travel Authorization System. Once you apply and the authorization is approved, you can enter Mexico for a total of 180 days.

Why Is the Mexico e-Visa Issued?
The Mexico e-Visa is issued for the purpose of tourism, business activities, and other activities such as participation in events, namely academic, scientific, or sports related. Additionally, the Mexico e-Visa is issued to students for a period of no more than 180 days. Moreover, it is a single-entry travel authorization, which means you cannot leave or visit other countries while you are in Mexico. If you wish to work, study or live in Mexico, you must apply at the Mexican embassy or consulate in your home country.
Which Countries Can Apply for Mexico e-Visa?
Only citizens of Russia, Ukraine, and Turkey can apply for the Mexico e-Visa. Everyone else who needs a visa for Mexico must apply for a regular Mexico tourist visa.
On the other hand, if you are from a visa-exempt country, you can visit Mexico for up to 180 days for purposes such as tourism, transit, business, or other unpaid activities. Visa exempt countries include the US, UK, Canada, Japan, and the Schengen countries among others.
How to Apply for a Mexico e-Visa?
The application process for applying for a Mexico e-Visa is as follows:
- Complete the online application form. All answers must be truthful and carefully written, with no grammatical errors. Make sure to write down all information as they appear on your passport.
- If you are a Russian citizen, fill in this application form,
- If you are a Turkish citizen, fill in this application form,
- If you are a Ukrainian citizen, fill in this application form.
- Double-check your information. It is highly recommended that you confirm that all of your information is correct. Otherwise, your visa might be rejected.
- Submit your application. The electronic permit is free of charge, therefore, all you need to do is complete the application form and submit it.
- Receive your Mexico e-Visa. You will receive your electronic Mexican visa at your email address. You must print your authorization. You will be required to present a hard copy of the visa on your arrival in Mexico.
What Documents Do I Need for a Mexico e-Visa?
Make sure you have the following documents when you are ready to apply for a Mexican visa:
- Valid passport. It must certify that you have Russian, Ukrainian, or Turkish nationality. It must be valid for at least 6 months before your intended departure.
- Confirmed return flight ticket.
- Hotel reservation in Mexico.
- Document which proves the purpose of your trip.
The embassy can require additional documents/information. Originals are not required for e-visas. Everything is done by e-mail.

There is no government fee to apply for a Mexican e-Visa. The electronic permit in Mexico is free of charge for Russian, Ukrainian, and Turkish citizens.
How Long Does the Mexico e-Visa Take to Process?
The Mexico e-Visa takes less than five business days to be processed. You will be notified via email if your visa is authorized.
How Long Is the Mexico e-Visa Valid For?
The electronic visa is single entry. You have 30 days to enter the territory of Mexico after you are issued the visa. The maximum number of days you can stay is 180 days.
How Many Times Can I Enter Mexico With My ETA?
This is a single-entry visa, so you cannot leave or visit any other country while you are in Mexico with an electronic travel authorization.
Does Obtaining ETA Guarantee Me Entry Into Mexico?
The Immigration authorities will make the final decision if you can enter Mexico.
