How to Apply for a Bahrain e-Visa?

In order to apply for an e-Visa to Bahrain, follow these steps:

  • Start your application by clicking on the “Apply for Visa” button on the home of the Bahrain e-Visa system. This is the only secure site to apply for an electronic visa to Bahrain.
  • Fill the eligibility entry fields. Write your nationality and select the purpose of your visit.
  • Select the visa type you wish to apply for. E.g., 2 weeks, three months, one year, 5 years.
  • Enter your personal information. You should not include titles (e.g., Dr, Col, Mr, Ms, Mrs, Miss) qualifiers (e.g., Snr, Jnr, Esq, PhD, III) or characters (e.g., hyphen (-), apostrophe (‘), comma ),), brackets ()) in your name. Write all information exactly as it appears on your passport. Regardless of whether or not you have changed your name since the issue of your passport, you must enter the details as shown in the passport.
  • Attach documents. You must attach copies of your passport biodata page, return air ticket and hotel booking. These documents are mandatory.
  • Review your information. Make sure all of your documents are attached correctly.
  • Pay the application fee. You must pay the application fee online. This is necessary, otherwise your visa application will not be processed.
  • Submit your application. After you are content that your information is accurate, submit your application.

How Will I Receive My Bahrain e-Visa?

You will receive an approval letter, which serves as an e-Visa, by email. You do not need to visit the embassy or any consulate. The decision will be delivered to you electronically.

Do I Have to Print Out the Bahrain e-Visa When I Travel?

Yes, you do. It is advisable to print out the approval that you receive in your email address. However, this is not necessary to do. Once you arrive in Bahrain, your electronic Visa will be accessible for the officers at border control.

What Documents Do I Need for a Bahrain e-Visa?

Make sure you have the following documents ready when applying for an e-Visa to Bahrain:

  • Your passport. It should be valid for a period of more than six months. No other type of travel document can be used.

How Long Does the Bahrain e-Visa Take to Process?

Once you have submitted your visa application, it will take five to seven working days for your Bahrain e-Visa to be processed. You will be notified whether your visa has been approved or not in a week.

How Long Is the Bahrain e-Visa Valid For?

The validity period of your visa and the amount of time you can stay in the country depends on which type of visa you apply for.

Can the Bahrain e-Visa Be Extended?

Yes, you can extend an e-Visa to Bahrain. You can apply for an extension for another two weeks by visiting NPRA (Nationality, Passports and Residence) in Bahrain.

Is the Bahrain e-Visa Multiple Entry?

Yes, it is. Bahrain multiple entry visa allows you to enter the country multiple times within the validity period.

Can I Work in Bahrain with An e-Visa?

No, you cannot. You are not allowed to work or volunteer (this includes NGO’s) while you are in Bahrain with an e-Visa. You must not take up unpaid jobs either. Holders of electronic visas in Bahrain are not permitted for any of the above. If you wish to work in the country, you must apply for the relevant visa.

Can I Get a Refund if My e-Visa to Bahrain Is Not Approved?

Yes. There will be a refund for the application fee, however the processing fee will not be refunded.

Do I Need to Obtain a Separate e-Visa for Persons Accompanying Me on My Trip to Bahrain?

If you wish to bring dependents with you, you should not apply for an electronic visa. Instead, you should travel to Bahrain and obtain a Visa on Arrival. Your dependents will be included on this visa with no additional charge. However, before you travel make sure you are eligible for a Visa on Arrival. Can I Correct a Mistake on My Visa Application to Bahrain?

Yes, you can. If the application you have submitted is incorrect or there are any missing attachments, an email notification with a PIN code will be sent to your email address. Visit the website where you submitted your application, click on ‘eVisa Services’, next click on ‘Visa Data Correction’ menu and fill the required fields and enter the PIN. However, remember that corrections must be submitted within 7 days from the notification date. The application will be canceled if you fail to correct the information within 7 days.

Does the e-Visa Guarantee Me Entry Into the Kingdom of Bahrain?

No, it does not. Holding a visa does not guarantee you entry into the country. You must meet all of the conditions before you arrive to be granted permission to enter Bahrain. Additionally, payment of the application fee does not guarantee approval of the visa.
