Every traveller coming from the countries under the US COVID-19 Travel Ban, who attempts to enter the US with an ESTA, will have the latter cancelled.
After the US temporarily suspended entry for most individuals, Immigrants and Nonimmigrants, concluding they “pose a risk” of transmitting the coronavirus pandemic, travellers from countries under the Visa Waiver Program and the Coronavirus Travel Ban who attempt to enter will have their ESTA cancelled, the official ESTA website highlighted in an announcement.
The United States lawful permanent residents, who have been in the UK, will be exempted from this decision excluding territories that are outside of Europe or the Republic of Ireland within 14 days, VisaGuide.World reports.
According to ESTA’s announcement, travellers who have a valid ESTA that is subject to the Proclamation and attempt to travel the United States illegally, their ESTA will be cancelled. For applications that are cancelled, due to this Proclamation, ESTA will not be refunded.
All the questions of travellers about the Proclamation, and the information, if they are subject to or if they are exempted from this Proclamation, should be addressed to Proclamation language and consult with the Department of State, of the United States to avoid the travel disruptions.
All three proclamations remain in effect:

- Proclamation 9993 regarding the Suspension of Entry as Immigrants and Nonimmigrants of Certain Additional Persons Who Pose a Risk of Transmitting 2019 Novel Coronavirus.
“Sustained human-to-human transmission has the potential to cause cascading public health, economic, national security, and societal consequences”, the US proclamation reads.
The United States President, Donald Trump in a proclamation on the suspension of entry amid the coronavirus, announced that the Center of Disease and Controls, with health departments, has limited resources. Thus this situation could bring the public health in critic situation if human-to-human transmission occurred in a large scale.
