Albanian citizens planning to travel to the United States for tourism and business purposes will no longer have their visas valid for three years after visas for both purposes have been extended for a period of ten years, which is the worldwide maximum.

The announcement has been confirmed by United States Ambassador to Albania, Yuri Kim, through a video message, while stressing that the new changes will become effective on April 1, VisaGuide.World reports.

The recent changes have been introduced as part of the celebration of 100 years of relationship between both territories.

“As we celebrate 100 years of relationship between the United States and Albania, Ambassador Yuri Kim shares some very important news that will make it easier for Albanians who want to visit friends and family in the United States”, the United States Embassy in Tirana has announced through a statement.

The extension of validity for tourist and business visas has been welcomed by citizens of Albania.

Authorities in Albania also applauded the US’s recent decision. The recent changes have also been welcomed by Albanian Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, while she highlighted the fact that this decision will contribute to strengthening ties that unite both territories.

“Good news for all Albanians! The validity of US business and tourist visas has been extended to 10 years! An important development that will contribute to the strengthening of the bonds that unite us! 100 years of diplomatic relations,” Minister Xhaçka has pointed out in this regard.

In this regard, the US Ambassador to Albania, Yuri Kim, said that she believes the decision will bring Americans and Albanians even closer together.

She said that every year, a larger number of citizens from Albania travel to the United States for different purposes, just as a larger number of Americans travel to Albania.

“We will now make it easier for Albanians who want to visit friends and family in America, see our countries and build business relationships. Starting April 1, the validity of a new tourist or business visa will be extended from 3 to 10 years. This means if you are an Albanian citizen who receives a tourist or business visa on April 1 or then your visa will be valid for ten years, not just 3,” the US Ambassador to Albania pointed out,” Kim has pointed out in this regard.

Authorities in Albania have also opened their doors to tourists from the United States, despite the fact that full vaccinations are required in a large number of countries due to the Coronavirus and its new strains.
