  • Proof of financial means. There is no specific percentage of income you should have, but you must have enough substantial means to support yourself and your dependents. 

How to Apply for a Bermuda Digital Nomad Visa?

To apply for a Bermuda digital nomad visa, you need to follow these steps:

  1. Collect the supporting documents. It is necessary to gather all the required documents in advance and translate them into English.   2. Complete the application form. After you have all the documents, you have to upload them to the visa application platform. The information you add to the application should be in English and make sure to double-check everything.
  3. Submit the application form. You have to submit the application after completing it. If you are applying for your family members as well, the applications must be submitted on the same day. 
  4. Pay the fees. The application fee is $263 per person and should be paid online. Fees are non-refundable. 
  5. Wait for approval. You have to wait up to five working days for approval. You will be informed via email if your application is approved. The Work from Bermuda Certificate will be sent to you via email as well.

In addition to these steps, it is important to mention that if you are not from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, or the European Union, you may also have to apply for an entry visa before traveling to the country, which can be done at any British Embassy or High Commission Office. How Long Can I Work in Bermuda as a Digital Nomad?

The validity of the Bermuda digital nomad visa is twelve months. The twelve-month time period starts the moment the certificate is issued. The Bermuda digital nomad visa is renewable depending on your circumstances, and you will have to apply again. Those who want to stay longer than 12 months must apply for a standard residential certificate. 

Paying Taxes as a Digital Nomad in Bermuda

As a digital nomad in Bermuda, under the work from Bermuda certificate, you are not required to pay income taxes or any other taxes. In addition, a $200 customs allowance will be given to each individual per trip. 

The Bermuda government does not tax profits, income, dividends, or capital gains. Instead of these taxes, the government of Bermuda collects a payroll tax. Payroll tax is about all employers. However, approximately 6% of a Bermuda citizen’s salary can be withheld by their employer in order to meet the total payroll tax obligation.
